Privacy Policy

    Short version: Package Tracker only reads your Gmail to find package shipping emails. We never read unrelated emails, never sell your data, and never share it with anyone.
  

1. What We Are

Package Tracker is a Chrome extension and Android app that automatically finds package shipping and delivery notifications in your Gmail inbox and displays them in one place. The app is developed independently and is not affiliated with Google, Gmail, Amazon, or any carrier.

2. What Data We Access

To provide the service, the app requests read-only access to your Gmail (gmail.readonly scope). This permission is used exclusively to:

Search your inbox for emails from known shipping carriers and merchants (e.g. UPS, FedEx, USPS, DHL, Amazon, eBay)
Extract tracking numbers, estimated delivery dates, and package status from those emails

We only read emails relevant to package deliveries. We do not read, access, store, or process any other emails.

3. What Data We Store

We store only the minimum information necessary to run the service:

Package information — merchant name, tracking number, carrier, delivery status, and product description extracted from shipping emails
Your email address — used to identify your account
Authentication tokens — a secure session token used to authenticate your requests to our server. Google access tokens are never stored on our servers.
Subscription status — whether your account has an active subscription

We do not store the content of your emails. Raw email data is processed in memory to extract package details and is discarded immediately afterward.

4. What We Never Do

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any third party
We do not read emails unrelated to package tracking
We do not use your data for advertising or profiling
We do not store raw email content on our servers
We do not share your information with merchants or carriers

5. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate the app:

Google OAuth — for secure sign-in and Gmail access. Governed by Google's Privacy Policy.
17track — to look up real-time tracking status for registered tracking numbers. Only the tracking number is shared, never personal information.
PayPal — for subscription payments. Governed by PayPal's Privacy Policy. We never see or store your payment details.

6. Data Security

All communication between the app and our servers uses HTTPS encryption. Authentication tokens are stored securely in your browser's local storage (extension) or the device's SharedPreferences (Android app) and are never transmitted to third parties.

7. Data Retention & Deletion

Your package data is retained as long as your account is active. You can delete individual packages at any time within the app. To delete your entire account and all associated data, sign out and contact us at the email below — we will permanently delete your data within 30 days.

8. Children's Privacy

This app is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page will reflect any changes. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
